Karen Louise Lance Eager, was called home, Tuesday, March 7, 2023. She was born September 24, 1943 to Leo Lance and Velma Ilene Duncan Lance in Fort Worth. Karen called Fort Worth home all 79 years of her life. She graduated from Diamond Hill-Javis High School and Ranger Jr College, and then went on to study Library Science at Texas Women’s University in Denton.
Karen and her family attended Diamond Hill Methodist church for many years where she had many friends and sang in the choir.
She worked for the city of Fort Worth in the Fire Department and then in the Police Department as an executive assistant to three of the Deputy Chiefs. She retired in 2009.
Karen was preceded in death by her father, Leo Preston Lance; her mother, Velma Ilean Lance; her sister, Wanda Faye Hudson and a baby brother, Gary Dale Lance as well as many Aunts Uncles and cousins.
She is survived by her daughters, Arden Hudson and son in law, Steve and Erin Eileen Partain; grandson, Benjamyn Lance Tomerlin and wife, Casey; grandsons, Spencer Chase Tomerlin and wife Brandi and Noah Byram Wheeler; great granddaughter, Bayleigh Grace Tomerlin; great grandson, Easton Lance Tomerlin; great granddaughters, Sadie Elizabeth Cowan and Addison Sue Cowan; nephew, Charles William Hudson and wife Denise; nieces, Lisa Hudson Brazier and husband Bobby, and Amy Hudson Cline and husband Steve, as well as many cousins, great nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends that she considered family.
