LaJuana "LJ" Faye (Edrington) Hartsock, 90, peacefully passed away Thursday, September 4, 2025, at home, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on September 12, 1934, in Childress, she was the daughter of Ernest and Evelyn (Williams) Edrington, who along with her twin brother, Alton, and brother, Robert, preceded her in death.

LJ’s early years were spent in Childress, but during the challenging Dust Bowl era, her family relocated to Tracy, California, where she completed her education. Following this, she moved to San Bernardino, where she worked at Handy Dan Hardware and Lumber. In the 1970s, she settled in Pilot Point, Texas, and later pursued her education by taking night classes to attain a business degree. LJ’s dedicated 20 years of service to the City of Denton Water Department, retiring in 2017.

Her passions included cheering for her favorite sports teams, the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers, and her love of country music, inspired by her brother Robert, who toured with Merle Haggard and the Strangers. Above all, LJ will be cherished by her family for her generous spirit and the love she shared throughout her life.

She is survived by sons, Alan Hartsock and Randy Hartsock  wife, Callie; daughter, Debbie Hartsock; sister, Barbara Faulk; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and her lifelong friend of over 70 years, Nadine Cook from Tracy, California.

LJ’s legacy of love and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
