Mary Kouri

Mary Helen Bates Kouri, 87, a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Sun., July 26, 2015. The daughter of Willliam Bates and Helen (Buckles) Bates was born August 31, 1927, in Tulsa. She attended school at Marquette Catholic School, graduating in 1945. On February 17, 1947, Mary married Edward Kouri in Tulsa, where they made their home. Mary enjoyed painting, reading, writing poetry, and cooking for her family. She also loved the ocean. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward; her parents; and sister, Catherine Bulle. Mary is survived by her children: William Kouri and wife, Carlene of Santa Clarita, CA, Christopher Kouri and wife, Gwen of Laguna Beach, CA, Patrick Kouri of Agua Dulce, CA, Matthew Kouri and wife, Patti of Chatsworth, CA, and Anthony Kouri of Bridgeport, and Philomena Kouri of Bridgeport; sister, Margaret Floyd of Tulsa; 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
