Kathie Kessler

Kathie Marie Starr Kessler, 66, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at a Fort Worth care center. She was born October 17, 1953 in Dallas to Charles Leon Starr II and Joan Marie (Beck) Starr. They both preceded her in death along with her husband, Donald Eugene Kessler, and her sister Bonnie Starr Chisholm and brother Charles Leon Starr III. Kathie was a mother, homemaker and Army wife. She loved life and was very creative. Despite moving frequently, she would market her skill sets from the home, creating elaborate weddings cakes, raising rabbits and selling them to pet stores and the military, and sewing for her children and others. She loved literature, taught her two children to read at an early age, and could often be found curled up with a good book. She was known for having a melodic voice and sang in many venues, across Europe and the US. She is survived by her children, Brandy Van Dao, and Dustin Witherspoon; grandson, Chase Witherspoon; step children, Steve Kessler, Jamie Kessler, Terry Kessler, Jacob Kessler, Tina Kessler Franklin, Elizabeth Kessler Wilson, Donald Kessler, Steve Kessler, Heidi Kessler, Justin Kessler, Dick Kessler and Charles Kessler; sister Lorrie Starr Crawford; nephews, Corey Starr, Frank Theriault and Frank Ritter; nieces, Mary Ritter, Kimberly Ritter, Shellye Chisholm Wade, Sunny Diane Starr; Angelyn Crawford, Maurine Camarena and Carla Theriault; extended family; her church family at New Hope Baptist Church and friends.
