James Carl Smith, Sr., 69, peacefully passed away, Tuesday, June 16, 2026, in Fort Worth. Born on October 10, 1956, in Fort Worth, James was the beloved son of Clyde Smith and Ruth (Jacks) Brooks, who preceded him in death, along with his sister and her husband, Illene and Charlie Hogue.
James was a resident of Azle/Springtown area and a proud graduate of Lake Worth High School, where he was an avid football player. He had a passion for woodworking, a craft he greatly enjoyed. James was a member of The Church at Azle and faithfully served the Lord. Most importantly, James treasured the moments spent vacationing with his family, especially cherishing the time with his grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of his life.
He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Linda (Collins) Smith; his sons, James Smith and his wife Susanne, and Justin Smith; his brothers, Robert Smith and his wife Sharon, and Roger Smith and his wife Char; and his grandchildren, Lily, Eli, JT, and Wyatt. James’s family will deeply miss his presence and the warmth he brought into their lives.
James Carl Smith, Sr.’s life was a testament to love, dedication, and family, and his memory will continue to be cherished by all who knew him.
