James Arthur Chappell Sr.

There are no scheduled services for James Arthur Chappell Sr., 85, who passed away, Monday, August 24, 2026 at home surrounded by those that love him. He was born December 23, 1940 in Onyx, California to William Alfred and Evelyn May (Robertston) Chappell. They both preceded him in death along with his wife, Brenda Kay (Ferguson) Chappell; son, James Arthur Chappell Jr.; and sister, JoAnn Vall. James grew up in California and worked many years as a ranch hand something he loved while taking care of his buddy, Rowdy the bull. Later in life he traveled the roads as a truck diver and retired after 40 years. He also enjoyed a trip or two to the casinos. But, most of all he loved to spend time with his family. Especially his grandchildren. James is survived by his daughter, Renee Trapasso and husband, David; son, Bill Chappell and wife, Barbara; nine grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren.
