Mrs Ila Maye Reed, 94, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2026 in Fort Worth. She was born August 23, 1931, to William G. Haver and Ila B. (Hughes) Haver in Albuquerque, NM. She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers and one sister. Ila grew up in New Mexico, her parents moving to several cities. At age 18, she met and married her beloved husband, Joe, on March 8, 1950. They traveled the world as Joe served in the US Air Force. Ila worked in retail for a few years but was primarily a wife and mother to her children.

Ila was a lifetime bowler. She bowled in several leagues and won numerous trophies. She won her last one in her eighties. She loved reading and Facebook, but more than anything, she loved spending time with her kids and grandchildren.

Ila is survived by her husband, Joe Clayton Reed; children, Steve Reed and his wife Sharon, Mike Reed, Susie Springer-Sandel and her husband Joe, and Gaye McKinney and her husband Larry; eight grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Ila leaves behind a legacy of love and commitment to family, carried forward by her children, grandchildren, and countless lives she touched during her life. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
