Linda Joy Hines was born to Robert Wilson Hines and Hazel Joy Hines on December 17, 1949. She went to be with her Lord Jesus on February 20, 2024 due to congestive heart failure.
Linda trusted Christ as her Lord and Savior through the faithful witness of a friend while a camp counselor in her late teens. She prayed faithfully for her family and friends, whom she loved very much. She is survived by her brothers and their wives Mark and Karen Hines and William and Kathy Hines, as well as 5 nieces, 2 nephews, 7 great nephews, 4 great nieces, and other extended family.
Linda led an adventurous life, including working at camps and resorts in Texas, California, Colorado, Montana, Minnesota, and Massachusetts, as well as a tour of Western Europe, before settling down in Ft. Worth to be closer to family.
Linda loved reading, especially romance, historical fiction, crime novels, and series related to biblical history and biblical prophecy.
Linda also loved to crochet blankets for her family in their favorite colors. Receiving one of these handmade blankets usually marked a special occasion – a small one for the birth of a baby, a full-size one upon becoming a “big kid,” or one to welcome someone who had married into the family. Her family is especially grateful now to have these tangible reminders of her deep love for them.
