Alexander Heath Hastings, 46, born on January 2, 1978, went to be with the Lord on December 8, 2024. He was born to Shelia and Danny Hastings in Hurt, Texas.
Alex is preceded in death by his father, Danny Hastings; his father-in-law, Robert Chappell; and his sister-in-law, Kimberly Chappell.
He grew up in Chico, Texas, with his brothers Justin, Kyle, Michael, Jerry, and Chaz. As a fourth-generation carpenter, Alex worked as a contractor and built his own business from the ground up.
Alex met and married his greatest love, Tammy, on December 26, 2006. Together, they had eight beautiful children, three sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, and seven grandchildren. They were his greatest treasure.
Alex lived his life as a devoted servant of God and a member of Grace Fellowship Church. He loved to go fishing with his sons, bake everyone’s birthday cake, play video games with his daughters, enjoy family adventures, drink his all-day coffee, visit the casino, and play with his grandchildren.
Alex was kind, loving, caring, and the most genuinely selfless man. There are not enough words to explain the lives Alex impacted and touched during his 46 years.
Alex is survived by his wife, Tamara Hastings, of 20 years; his daughter Madyson and her husband Luke Simmons of Paradise; his daughter Samantha and her husband Julius Pendergraft of Bridgeport; his son Tristan Hastings of Chico; his daughter Kaitlin and her wife Nadia Menchaca of Wichita Falls; his daughter Payton Hancock of Bridgeport; his daughter Mikayla Hastings and Aiden House of Chico; his daughters Zoey and Lillyan Hastings of Chico; and seven grandchildren, Aubree, Reese, Creed, and Cash Simmons; Evelyn, Alexander, and baby Pendergraft. He is also survived by his mother, Shelia Hastings; his brother Justin of Chico; his brother Kyle and wife Darla of Cottondale; his brother Michael of Los Colinas; his brother Jerry Gee of Chico; his brother Chaz and wife Stephanie Miller of Jacksboro; and many nieces and nephews.
Alex will be unimaginably missed. His legacy will live on through his family and all the laughter and joy he brought them. His smile and kind heart will be remembered forever.
