Donald Keith Haak, 92, of Rhome Texas, passed away, Monday, September 25, 2023 at home with family by his side. He was born February 3, 1931 in Glendale, California to Arthur and Winnie May (Blackburn) Haak. Don was preceded in death by his wife, of 68 years, Claudia Mae Haak; his parents Arthur and Winnie Haak; his sisters, Henrietta Eaton and Esther Garner; his brothers, Kenneth and Victor Haak; and his son-in-law, Ray Milczewski, Jr. He is survived by his children, Vicki Milczewski, Richard Haak, Robert Haak and Donna Campbell and husband, Jimmie; grandchildren, Sara, Rachel, Leslie, Derek, Ciara, Natalie, Rick, Marissa and Kristen; great grandchildren, Levi, Carter, Alaya, Rayleigh, Piper, Kayden, Trevon, Colton, Everly, Kylerr, Aspen and Stetsyn.
Don served in the US Navy during the Korean War, part of the Pacific Fleet, as a radio operator aboard the USS Electron. His expertise in radio communications continued in his early career in satellite communications and as a Ham radio operator talking to fellow Hams around the world and supporting communications in times of crisis. Don was an avid fisherman and owner of Haak’s Charter Fishing in San Diego, CA. The radios, boats, fishing, friends and family were his passions. His wife was the love of his life, and now together again in heaven, his happily everlasting.
