Daniel Peter Grant, born to Orva LaVern Grant and Geraldine Minnie Voorheis, passed away on March 14, 2025, with his sons present.
Daniel was a man of many passions, deeply connected to the outdoors. An avid hunter, competitive trap shooter, and collector, he dedicated much of his life to his hobbies and community. He served as President of the Pompey Rod & Gun Club during the mid-1980s, was a former Captain of the Onondaga Volunteer Fire Department, and held the position of Vice President of the New York Federation of Sportsmen.
In the early 1960s, Daniel served in the United States Air Force, where he worked as a photographer. During this time, he was involved in missions that documented events related to Cuba, capturing images that contributed to the historical record of the era.
He is survived by his sister, Joyce (Neil); his four sons from his first marriage to Carolyn (predeceased in 2009): Daniel (Patricia), David, Dean (Nada), and Don (Jennifer); and his grandchildren Rachel, Jonathan (Shelby), Tyler, Dean II, Roselyn (Cameron), Luka, Marianna, Millie, and Don Jr. Daniel was also blessed with a great-grandchild, Madeline.
Daniel shared a close bond with his ex-wife Lynn and her family, including her children Timothy, Joshua, and Jennifer, and her grandchildren Aslyn, Jacob, Katlyn, Esma, and Dylan.
