John Gonzales

John Gonzales, 67, of Childress, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on January 2, 2021 after a long battle with COVID in Decatur.
He was born on, April 8,1953 in Alice to Vicenti and Elisa Gonzales. He was 1 of 12 siblings.
John worked as a contractor for the United States Postal Service. He was a hard worker and enjoyed the friends he made along his route. John was a family man and loved his family unconditionally. There wasn't a thing he wouldn't do for them. He enjoyed fishing, camping and countless trips to the lake.
John enjoyed music and loved singing and dancing to nearly anything. John's passion for music was never ending. He is survived by Margie Gonzales of Childress, brother, Manuel and wife Noelia of San Antonio; sister, Melinda Gonzales of Childress; sister, Victoria Gonzales of Huntington, IN; sister, Dolores Gonzales of Lubbock; Rachel Gonzales of Lubbock; daughter, Elisa Gonzales Peardon and fiancé James Phipps of Bartow, FL.; daughter, Monica Gonzales Nichols and husband David of Lakeland, FL.; daughter, Lisa Sifuentez and husband Ruben of Lubbock; daughter, Bibi Fuller and husband Trey of Childress;. son, Lionel Benavides and wife Ashley of Amarillo; son, Rene Benavides of Childress; daughter, Melisa Flores and husband Isidro Flores of Bartow, FL.; 24 Grandchildren and 23 Great Grandchildren.; countless nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his father, Vicente Gonzales, mother, Elisa Gonzales, brother, Ray Gonzales, sister, Martina Gonzales, brother Marine Gonzales, brother Pete Gonzales, sister Estella Lara, sister Teresa Pereyra, and nephew Gabriel Pereyra. Celebration of Life is currently pending.
