It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gloria Donnell Grant, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, who left us peacefully on September 29, 2025, in Pelican Bay, Texas. Born on July 14, 1957, in Fort Worth, Texas, Gloria lived a life marked by kindness, compassion, and a profound dedication to those around her.
Gloria was a shining light in the lives of many, known for her caring spirit and sacrificial nature. Her love extended generously to not only her family but also to all who were fortunate enough to cross her path. She had a deep affection for animals, especially her cherished fur babies —Shampoolie , Moma, and Baby Girl —who were dear companions throughout her life.
Gloria's legacy continues through her loving family. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Christine Dudik and Celest Horton, and her beloved son, Benjamin Shaw. A cherished brother, Donald Dixson Jr., and his wife, Louann, also remember her fondly, alongside a myriad of friends who treasured her warmth and kindness.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 13 years, Jimmy Grant; her parents, Donald Dixson Sr. and Thelma (Patterson) Dixson; and her sisters, Debora Lancaster and Patsey Anni Dixson. Each of them will hold a special place in Gloria's heart, as she carried them with her through life.
A Memorial Service celebrating Gloria's life will be held on May 10, 2025, at Light House Harbor Church in Azle, Texas. Friends and family are invited to share in this poignant moment of remembrance, honoring the beautiful spirit of Gloria Donnell Grant—a woman whose love knew no bounds and whose memory will forever remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.
