Michael Glasgow

February 27, 1948 — December 13, 2019

Michael Bartholomew Glasgow, aged 71, passed away while holding his brother’s hand on December 13, 2019. He was born with his twin brother, Timothy Mitchell Glasgow on February 27,1948 to Geraldine Mitchell in Dallas, Texas, a brave mother of 4 boys. She fell in love with a handsome Marine, James Glasgow and married him. The twins got a new lease on life and new adventures with the Glasgow clan in Arkansas which they joined with happy abandon. Art, cars and animals infused their lives and Mike and Tim were rarely apart for long. Mike received a Bachelor of Science from A&M University at Commerce as an art and journalism major, where Tim joined him to get his degree in Graphic and Fine Arts. Together they pursued careers in commercial art and art instruction. As partners, they formed art studios such as The Our Gang Studio, The One Two Studio, and the Glasgow Design Studio. Mike was very proud to teach commercial art and was very engaged in helping his students learn and achieve success. Mike married two smart and independent women (at different times) and was the father of Angie Glasgow, Nathan Glasgow, and Lauren Glasgow (Stokes) and was the proud grandfather of 5 grandchildren. He lived with his brother Tim for decades, enjoying sailing on boats they bought and made seaworthy by hand and engaged in escapades worthy of a modern day Mark Twain novel. His friendly smile, hilarious sense of humor and kindness to his friends and family are already deeply missed. A memorial and celebration of his life will be held in February, 2020.
