Evelyn Jo Bailey

Evelyn Jo Bailey, born on November 7, 1953, in Monroe, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, whose spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Evelyn dedicated over 30 years of her life to her career as a hair stylist, where her passion for beauty and personal connection shone through. Known for her infectious smile and great sense of humor, she brought joy to her clients and co-workers alike. Evelyn had a good heart, always ready with a playful prank to bring laughter to her family and friends.

A creative soul, Evelyn loved to make her home a warm and beautiful haven for those she cherished. Her interests included arts and crafts, where she expressed her vibrant spirit, and watching old black and white movies, particularly Westerns, which brought her comfort and nostalgia. Evelyn had a special connection with animals, particularly dogs, elephants, and giraffes, reflecting her compassionate nature and love for all living beings.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Heath Bailey; her sisters, Carolyn Armistead and her husband, JC, and Dana Allen and her husband, William; and her brother, Lonnie E. Cross Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews and exteded family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie Edward Cross and Cloverdale Hill; her brother, Terry Lynn Cross; her sister, Lacy Jane Hickman; and her sister-in-law, Sharon Cross. Their memories and love for her remain an enduring part of her legacy.

A graveside service will be held at Ash Creek Cemetery in Azle, Texas, on June 25, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM. Evelyn's warmth and joy will carry on in the hearts of her family and friends, reminding us all of the beauty she brought to this world.
