Donna Lynn (Babcock) Don went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 21, 2021, after showing bravery, determination, and resilience during her 11 year battle with Lung Cancer. She was surrounded by her loved ones at home at the time of her passing, at the age of 58. Donna is survived by her loving husband Leonard Don; her son Leo Don and wife, Vanessa and their children Alyssa, Angel, Jocey, Xavier, Leeyah and Trae; her daughter Mallory Viveiros and husband, Christian and their children Ainsley, Amaya, Corbin and Carlynn; her brother David Allred and wife, Rose; her sister Juanita Voorhees and husband, Steve; her sister Kathie Lewis and husband, Wayne; her sister Bobby Garcia and husband, Bernardo; and her brother Dewey Babcock.
Donna was born on December 15, 1962, to Dewey David Babcock and Marguerite Etta Middaugh in San Diego, California. As a teenager, she moved to Houston where she attended Spring Branch High School. It was there where she met and began dating the love of her life, Leonard. They married on September 5, 1981 and had two children that were truly her heartbeat. Being a mother and taking care of those who needed her came naturally to Donna.
While there are so many things to celebrate and love about Donna, she will most often be remembered for her selfless, gentle, and kind spirit. Donna always put others' needs and desires before her own, having a true servant’s heart. Donna's love and service to others was evident in all aspects of her life and at the core of who she was as a person. She exemplified kindness toward all people, was accepting of people from all different walks of life, and her actions always came from the heart.
Throughout her journey with cancer, Donna said she felt God with her through the outpouring of love and support from everyone around her. She also felt the peace only God can provide as she endured countless invasive and difficult treatments. Although we are deeply saddened that she is no longer with us, we rejoice that she is celebrating being cancer free with her Heavenly Father.
Our family is deeply thankful for each and every individual who walked alongside us, often holding us up, through this journey. Support was felt from far and wide, in great abundance, and never ceasing.
