Diane S.  (Saunders) Harris was born on June 11, 1951, in Fort Worth, Texas, and passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, in Decatur. Her journey was marked by a treasured commitment to family, quiet strength, and a dedication that carried through both her personal and professional life.

Raised in Bridgeport, Texas, Diane graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1970, a formative step that paved the way for her lifelong dedication to hard work and nurturing those around her. She went on to build a steadfast career, working for over twenty years at the Walmart in Decatur—a place where her kindness and quiet diligence were felt by coworkers and customers alike.

Diane’s greatest pride came from her marriage to William Harris in January of 1982. The couple shared 33 years together, a union that deeply enriched her life. William’s passing was a profound loss for Diane, yet the love they shared was a guiding light that continued to inspire her every day.

Known for her preference for a peaceful life spent in the warmth of her family’s presence, Diane found joy and comfort in simple pleasures. She was a devoted mother to her children: Karen Woodworth; Jason Hooker and his wife, Lacye; Stefanie Gann and her husband, Brandon; and Angela Harris. Her heart expanded even further through her cherished grandchildren—Seth, Sarah, Kaylee, Zachary, Ayden, Cheyenne, Brynlee, Rylee, Masyn, Lillie, and Robert—and her beloved great-grandchildren, Jace, Easton Noah, and Isabelle. Alongside these immediate family members, Diane was embraced by an extended circle of relatives and friends who will carry forward her memory.

Diane also maintained a calm and introspective spirit through hobbies such as cross-stitch and reading, activities that reflected her gentle nature and deep appreciation for quiet moments of reflection.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Harris; and her loving parents, Elmer Saunders and Clarice Clark. Though they have gone before her, their legacies live on through Diane and the family she cherished so dearly.

Diane S. Harris’s life was a testament to the power of quiet love and steadfast dedication. She leaves behind a legacy rich in the bonds of family and community, comforted by the knowledge that her gentle spirit touched so many. In her passing, her family and friends have lost a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose tender presence will be missed beyond measure. May her memory be a blessing and a source of comfort to all who knew and loved her.
