Dannie Phillips

With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we remember Dannie Phillips, a beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather, who passed away on May 2, 2026, in Decatur, Texas. Born on January 30, 1970, in Fort Worth, Texas, Dannie’s journey through life was marked by a boundless love for his family, a passion for the great outdoors, and a joyful spirit that touched all who knew him.

Dannie was a man of many passions. He found true happiness in the company of horses and the thrill of roping, cherished moments spent playing and watching baseball and football, and never missed a chance to cheer on his favorites—the University of Texas and the Dallas Cowboys. These pastimes were made all the richer by his devoted role as a grandfather, delighting in precious times shared with his grandchildren, whom he adored beyond measure.

He is survived by his daughter, Taylor Mitchell, and her husband, Ezekiel, who held a special place in his heart as the center of his world. His unwavering love extended to his grandchildren—Tatum, Saige, and Mateo—whose laughter and presence brought him immeasurable joy. Dannie’s family circle also includes his father, Gene Cash; his brother, David Cash; and his sisters, Susan Kearby and Jackie Phillips-Stevenson, all of whom carry forward his legacy of kindness and strength.

We also remember with tenderness those family members who passed before him, including his beloved mother, Nancy (Self) Phillips, and his sister, Tiffany White. Their memories remain a cherished part of Dannie’s story and the family’s enduring bond.

A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Dannie’s remarkable spirit on May 17, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Hidden Gardens Event Venue, located at 8229 Jacksboro Highway in Lakeside, TX. This gathering offers an opportunity for all who loved him to come together, share memories, and find comfort in each other’s presence.

Dannie Phillips’s life was a testament to love, dedication, and joy. His warmth, humor, and the genuine care he extended to those around him leave an indelible mark. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit will forever ride free in the hearts of his family and friends, like the open plains he loved so dearly.
