Betty Jo Cox (Stults) was born April 1, 1943 to Roberta Clay Dillingham Stults and Allison Carrol Stults. She passed away February 16, 2025. The second of nine children, she grew up in Weatherford, Tx graduating in 1961 from Weatherford High School.As a child our family attended South Side Baptist Church where she made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ at an early age. Betty Jo married W.D. Cox in 1964. They lived in Alaska for several years while her husband was in military. They were able to spend time with her sister Dora whose husband Jack was also in military and occasional visits from her brother EB (USMC) before returning to Texas.A member of Future Nurses of America in High School, she went on to become a nurse, obtaining her RN degree in 1985. She worked at Cook’s Children Hospital loving and caring for children for 25 years.Betty Jo and her older sister Carrolann loved genealogy. After they retired from their respective careers, they spent many years traveling the country together using “family research” as a cover for their many adventures. And misadventures , of which according to family, there were many!Her health declined in recent years. She spent the last few years at a local assisted living facility enjoying interaction with other residents. After a brief time at a local hospital, she passed away peacefully. Betty Jo was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Carrolann and Nancy, and brothers Roger, Lewis and Robert.Left to cherish her memory are her sisters Dora and Juanita, her brother Billy, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, cousins and her many, many friends.“Absent in body, Present with the Lord “Until we meet again”.
