Charles Lynn Young, 73, fell asleep in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, July 7, 2026 in Decatur, Texas. He was born October 23, 1952 in Waxahachie, Texas and at a young age was adopted. He grew up in the Saint Jo area, attended school and was a longtime member of the Saint Jo Church of Christ. He resided most of his life in Saint Jo until moving to Decatur, Texas in 2021 with his wife. As a young man, Charles worked in the family business as a heavy equipment operator. Later working as a detention officer at the Montague County Jail, he retired in 2026. He loved to restore classic cars, and enjoyed assembling model cars and war ships. Charles was also interested in history, most of all World War II. He could be found watching old westerns, sports and going fishing. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Arlene (Williams) Young; children, Leon, Jeff, Kristal and husband, Billy and Gayla and husband, Mike; step-children, Kenneth and wife, Phyllis and Chessica and husband, Brad; half brother, Randy; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and longtime best friend, Peter Myers. Charles is preceded in death by his father, Leon Young, mother, Geraldine Cook and her husband, Coy, daughter, Jennifer, siblings, Bobby and Gail, grandchildren, Hayley and Tyler.
