CeCelia Padgett Elliott

CeCelia Nell Bennett Elliott, lovingly known as Cindy, peacefully passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026, in Bridgeport, Texas. Born on May 8, 1935, in Tyler, Texas, to Elwyn B. Bennett and Wilma D. (Blackstone) Bennett, who preceded her in death, Cindy’s life was marked by creativity, love, and resilience. She was also predeceased by two of her children, Patrick Douglas Lynch and Deanna Carol Cashen.

Cindy’s artistic spirit was evident throughout her life. She delighted in gardening, sewing, painting, and treasured all forms of creative expression—including photography, leather tooling, woodworking, quilting, and crocheting. Blessed with a beautiful voice, Cindy sang in her school choir and church choirs for many years. A lifelong avid reader, she excelled academically and was even allowed to skip the third grade, except she always found math to be a humble challenge.

Becoming a mother at a young age, Cindy devoted herself to raising three daughters and one son by the time she was twenty-two, and they were the center of her world. After her children grew, she pursued a career as a bookkeeper, first at Darr Equipment in Irving, Texas, and later as co-owner and office manager of Padgett Masonry in Chandler, Texas, where she worked until retiring at the age of seventy-five.

In her retirement years, Cindy found love once again with Bill Elliott, whom she met at their retirement residence in Bridgeport. They soon married, and she cherished the time they shared.

Cindy is survived by her devoted husband, Bill Elliott; her daughters, Linda Turner and her husband Kyle, and Cheryl Lynch Alley; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cindy also held a special place in her heart for Bill’s daughters, Lori Norris and her husband William, and Jennifer Sanchez and her husband Michael.

Cindy touched the lives of all who knew her with her warmth, creativity, and kindness. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the joy she brought to the world and the lasting impact of her extraordinary life.
