Carol Ann "Candy" O'Brien

Carol Ann "Candy" Castor O’Brien, 81, passed away peacefully at home, Monday, September 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 24, 1944, in Ohio to Richard and Martha Castor, she was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gerry O’Brien, son, Perry "Bubby" O’Brien, and brother, Thomas Castor.

Candy spent her early years in Ohio before the family moved to Arizona during her teenage years, where she met her husband, Gerry. They married soon after and were blessed with two children. The family relocated to Texas in 1983, where Candy embraced life with a passion for adventures, shopping, Dr. Pepper, casino visits and visits with her dear friends, Quincy and Vera.

She is survived by her daughter Karry Lamb and husband Jerry; sister Nancy Depue and husband Henry; brother Keith Castor and wife Janet; grandchildren Dustin Lamb and wife Shavonne, Brittany Cash and husband Ryan, Brandi Sanford and husband Joey, Jackie Dawson, and Catherine Dawson; and her great-grandchildren Holden, Miley, Weldon Cooper, Meyer, Von Cash, Judge, Justice, Cynthia Sanford, Tristin, Dakota Crosby, and Braedon, Tatum, and Raygen Brown; lifelong friend Jennifer Lawrence and her son, Bobby Olson. Candy also leaves behind her beloved canine companions who brought her immense joy.
