Carol Ann Harrison

Carol Ann Harrison, born on August 23, 1938, in Huntington, West Virginia, was reuninted in heaven with her son Robert Craig Spencer on June 8, 2025, in Arlington. She lived a remarkable life, dedicated to her family and her vocation as an elementary teacher for many years. Her passion for education was matched only by her love for life and those around her.

Carol graduated from Huntington High School, where she proudly served as a majorette. She furthered her education by earning her Master’s degree from Marshall University, enriching her teaching career and inspiring countless young minds. Throughout her life, Carol possessed an indomitable spirit. She was known for her fashionable style and vibrant personality, always radiating warmth and kindness to everyone she encountered.

In addition to her professional achievements, Carol had a deep love for reading, Bible study, and travel, pursuits that enriched her experiences and broadened her perspective of the world. She carried an infectious joy for life that shaped the lives of her family and friends.

Those who cherished her are her beloved daughter, Cheri Spencer; her brother, David Slater, and wife Helen; her grandson, Timothy Spencer; and daughters-in-law, Kathy Spencer and Diane Spencer. Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil V. Slater and Jaunita (Rice) Slater, and her son, Robert Craig Spencer.

Carol Ann Harrison will be remembered not only for her contributions to education but also for the love and happiness she brought into the lives of those she held dear. Her legacy will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends as they remember her with fondness and gratitude.
