Lowell Burkett

Lowell Ollie Burkett, 89, went home to be with his Lord, Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at home, surrounded by those that love him. Lowell was born November 9, 1928 in Silverton to George W. and Ollie Bell Cryer Burkett. They both preceded him in death along with a granddaughter, Brandy Burkett. Lowell married the love of his life, Mary, July 15, 1949. He served proudly in the US Air Force for twelve years. Lowell was a postal carrier in Dalllas, a carrier for the Wise County Messenger and was a member of the Decatur Church of Christ. He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Mary Burkett; son, Ronald Wayne Burkett and wife, Glenda; daughter, Linda Faye Balboa and husband, Richard; son, James Richard Burkett; sisters, Frankie Armstrong and husband, Joe and Georgia Floyd; grandchildren, Karrie Ann, Ronald Jr., Jamie, Jason, Joshua, Jonathan and Amy; great grandchildren, Blake, Maddie, Lincoln and Samuel.
