Jerry Dwyane Broom, 58, passed away May 22, 2023 at his home in Graford.
Dwyane was born to Jerry Broom and Shirley Ward on April 26, 1965 in Mineral Wells. He grew up in Mineral Wells, where he attended Bible Baptist Academy. He married Eloise Taylor on February 16, 2001.
Dwyane was a natural born entrepreneur. From the time he was strong enough to push a lawn mower, he had a job. He owned his own painting business, and was a master at his craft. He was a perfectionist, and the best in the business. No one worked harder than Dwyane. He instilled in his children his incredible drive, and his fiercely strong work ethic.
On the rare occasion he would break away from work he loved fishing, being near the water, and listening to music of all kinds. He loved his family, and always provided for them. He had a hard exterior, and could be a bit of a grump. This went on to earn him the title of Grumpy to some of his grandchildren, and to the rest of his grandchildren he was Pawpa Dwyane.
Dwyane is survived by his wife, Eloise of 22 years; daughters, Rachael Williams, and husband Cody, of Weatherford, Laura Finkbeiner and son-in-law Lincoln Finkbeiner of Azle and Morgan Broom and significant other Kaleb Riley of Graford; stepson, Jason Williams of Mineral Wells; stepdaughter, Sara Jones and husband Joshua of Perrin; his grandchildren Ramsey, Cason, Cambrie, Liberty, Lincoln, Luke, Ella, Ava, and Sawyer; father, Jerry Broom and stepmother, Sherry Broom of Mineral Wells; mother, Shirley Ward of Mineral Wells; brother, Jeff Broom and wife Tammy of Mineral Wells; stepsister, Christy Graham and husband Johnny of Mineral Wells; nephews, Tyler and Cameron; and nieces Ashley, Victoria, and Airaca.
Dwyane is preceded in death by his grandparents, Willey and Nancy Broom, and Emmett and Opal Welch.
