Pastor Bobby Bowden (Robert), 76, went to be with the Lord on January 31, 2025 at his home in Springtown,
Texas.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Western Star Cowboy Church, 790 CR 3696, in Springtown, Texas on Saturday, February 15th at 10 am.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and Shepherd to a multitude of people in his years of service to God. He was proceeded in death by his parents Elrey and LaVerda Bowden, his sister Sharon, his brother Eddie, his granddaughter Tori and his son Jason Schulz.
He is survived by his wife: Mary, his children and their spouses: Michelle & Karl, Eric & Kathy, Adam & Brent, Gordon Rowell and Lara Schulz. His grandchildren: Erin, Lauren, Elizabeth, Zachary, Kaylynn, Sierra, Addison, Laura & Mariah. His great grandchildren: Trey and Oaklynn. He is also survived by his siblings and their spouses: Ralph and Kathy, Sandra Erwin, David & Charlene.
Pastor Bobby and his wife Mary through God's guidance created and founded the Western Star Cowboy Church in Springtown, Texas in April 2010. He was a humble man and led many people to God. In February 2013 he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer; God continued to use him in His service for 12 years. His oncologist called Bobby the "miracle man," those who knew him called him "a man of God." Pastor Bobby led a full life. He was a Green Berets in the Army Special Forces during the Vietnam era. He was a Pastor and Bible Study teacher at several different churches, an English and Photography teacher, a Safety and Human Resouce Manager, and he worked as a builder in home construction. He was an accomplished musician and songwriter. At the age of 16 he played and sang in the Grand Old Opry. During his life He played various stringed instruments in several Country Western bands and lastly since 2010 lead and played in the WSCC church band.
The family is asking in lieu of flowers to please donate to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
