Ben E. Snodgrass, 72, of Springtown, Texas, passed away peacefully, August 2, 2025. Born on April 5, 1953, in Brownwood, Texas, to Benjiman and Pearlee Snodgrass, Ben lived a life marked by quiet strength, unwavering loyalty, and deep love for his family, friends, hunting, fishing and football.

A true Texan at heart, Ben was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys and spent many joyful hours fishing for catfish—his favorite pastime. Whether on the bank of the Devils River or in his chair during a Sunday game, Ben found happiness in the simple things that brought people together even though he was probably seen yelling at the TV being an “armchair” coach for the cowboys or telling you how his brisket is better than anybody else’s.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Valorie Sue Snodgrass, and his brothers Bob and John Snodgrass. Though their absence was deeply felt, Ben carried their memory with him always.

Ben is survived by his brother David Snodgrass of Temple; son, Benjiman R. Snodgrass and wife Kimberly Pinkston of Kennedale, Tx, daughter, Vanessa Bryson and husband Michael Somogye of Springtown, Tx; and son, Brad Snodgrass and wife Karen Snodgrass of Paradise, Tx. He also leaves behind countless grandchildren who were the light of his life and the source of his greatest pride.

To know Ben was to be welcomed as family. He had a gift for making people feel seen, heard, and loved. If he considered you a friend, he treated you like kin—and that was one of his greatest legacies.

Ben E. Snodgrass will be dearly missed, but the warmth of his love, laughter, and loyalty will live on through all who had the honor of knowing him.
