Anita Faye Dixon Springer, a beloved mother, and friend, peacefully departed from this world on Saturday, May 24, 2025, in Decatur at the age of 86. Born on February 20, 1939, in Childress, Arkansas, Anita was the cherished daughter of George Lee and Wilma Alma (Burnett) Dixon. They welcomed her into their family with open arms, and now they embrace her once again.
Anita's life was deeply rooted in family. She is survived by her loving daughters, Jerri Doughtery and Evelyn Phillips, along with numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts and miss her dearly.
Anita grew up in a family dedicated to hard work and togetherness. The family traveled as harvesters before settling in Fort Worth during the 1940s, where her father devoted his career to the Fort Worth School District until his well-deserved retirement. Through it all, Anita cultivated her many passions—she found joy in gardening, cross-stitching, coloring, baking, and tracing her family's genealogy. Each of these interests reflected her nurturing spirit and her love for bringing beauty into the lives of those around her.
As we remember Anita, we celebrate a life filled with warmth, creativity, and love. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to thrive in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
