Marsha Abernathy

August 26, 1945 — July 14, 2018

Marsha D’Anne Gunn Abernathy, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 14, 2018. She was born August, 26, 1945 in McCook, Nebraska to Gale G. and Edna Marie Clapp Gunn, who preceded her in death along with one brother. Growing up she lived in Nebraska, Missouri, Georgia and North Carolina where she met and married Ned Abernathy, the love of her life. They moved to Texas in 1976 and finally made their home at what she liked to call “Rosemeade Acres” in Paradise. She worked as an escrow officer for 26 years in Tarrant County and then for 7 years with AT&T and was a mother and homemaker. Marsha loved her retirement and daily Facebook contact with all of her friends from her worldly travels and previous co-workers. She was a life long member of the United Methodist Church and a 50 year member of The Order Of The Eastern Star. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Ned; daughter, Heather Wolfe; son, Heath Abernathy; 5 grandchildren; 1 sister; her “adopted” Bulgarian son, German “Gero” Gachevski and his extended family, along with her many other friends in Bulgaria. Marsha’s favorite flower was the rose. She loved working with the many roses in her garden. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Marsha’s Memorial Rose Garden (see her Facebook page for information) or The American Heart Association.
