Matea F. Carballo

February 24, 1917 — March 25, 2009

Matea Flores Carballo, 92, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 25, 2009 from natural causes at local care center in Fort Worth. She was born February 24, 1917 in Manila, Philippines. She was a loving, thoughtful, caring wife, devoted mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dominador Carballo, whom she married on December 25, 1938. They moved to the United States in 1951 when her husband was stationed at Fort Bliss Army Base in El Paso, TX. In 1958, he transferred to Camp Wolters Army Base in Mineral Wells, TX. It was in Mineral Wells where they made their longtime home and raised 3 children, Cecilia, Cornelio, who preceded her in death and Clay. She was well known and loved by the residents of Mineral Wells. She liked to knit, crochet, make ceramics and watch Texas Rangers baseball. However, most of all she was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the team at Oddssey Hosipice, for their care and support.
