Shirley Jean Kennedy, 70, a loving wife, caring mother, beloved sister, fun grandmother and loyal friend, passed away with her family by her side in Fort Worth. God gave us an angel named Shirley on June 25, 1938 and He called her home May 24, 2009, after a short battle with cancer. She was greeted by her oldest daughter and best friend, Barbara. The flowers she left behind were her husband Duane; daughters, Paula Calhoun and family of Maypearl, Peggy Manton and family of Midolthian; son, Kevin and family of Frisco; brother James "Jim" Nelson and family of Nacona; other flowers in her garden include grandson, GySgt. Jayson Hutson and family of Waco, Tamina Wright and family of River Oaks; and blooms planted, her 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
