Dee Murray was born May 30, 1952 in Venus to Thomas Lee and Mary Marie Murry, Sr., and was raised in the Poly area of Fort Worth. On a blind date he met, Carolyn Fagan while attending school at Polytechnic High and they became high school sweethearts. Later they married in 1968 and began their family shortly afterward with the birth of their eldest son, Greg in 1970. In 1975 they saw the birth of their middle son Tim,and several years later in 1985 they welcomed their baby boy, Chris. Dee worked for many years in the residential construction business throughout the 80's and was a general contractor with his own business for many years. Yet work held no greater fascination for Dee than taking care of his wife, sons and teaching the boys the nuances of America's favorite pass-time, the game of Baseball. Dee was a card-caring lifetime member of the Kennedale Youth Association, and beloved member and Director of P.O.N.Y. (Protect Our Nations Youth) Baseball in North Texas. A true student of the game, Dee watched his sons grow to love the game too, and then as he had with his own children, he continued to foster a love of the game of baseball in his grandchildren. As Dee's boys grew older they have blessed him and Carolyn with 6 beautiful grandchildren. Cari, Sebastian, Ariel, Chasity, Tim Jr., and Blake all had a special place in Dee's heart, and it was through their eyes that he saw the world, with child-like fascination and reverence. He was the proudest of Grandparents and the best "Papa" for which his grandchildren could have ever hoped. A stranger to no one, and a friend to anyone, Dee was a caretaker with a loving heart and boundless sense of responsibility to his family and friends. He will be missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him for the kind, enduring soul that he was.
