Janet "Jan" Rice

April 23, 1937 — June 11, 2009

Jan was born in Wilkes Barre, Pa. and at the age of two months went to live with the Lohmans. She was later adopted by them. Mary Lohman, Jan's adoptive mother, came from a family of 17 and Charles Lohman, Jan's adoptive father, from a family of 8. Jan attended Berean Bible School, Manahath Bible College and Kutztown State College in Pennsylvania. Jan moved to Texas in 1974 and worked many years for lawyers. She then trained to become a Farmers Insurance Agent and had her own agency for many years. She was a "live wire" and loved meeting people and helping them with their insurance needs which included many evenings and weekends working, and in doing so,made life long friends over a period of 20 years. Quote from a neighbor, "She touched so many of our lives in such a good and positive way and her memory will always be with all of us." Jan's favorite baseball team was the Texas Rangers. She loved attending games and worked as an usher there during the 2007 season. She also loved going to Branson almost every year and visiting friends in New Mexico, all over New England and Pennsylvania.
