Donna Ray Stafford

July 26, 1947 — July 24, 2010

Donna was born July 26, 1947 in Dallas, to Roy Gilleland and Virginia Chapman. After graduating from Dallas' Woodrow Wilson High School in 1965, she went on to attend Stephen F. Austin University. She mer her fellow student and husband to be, John Stafford, there and they married on February 9, 1968. John and Donna traveled extensively over several continents throuhgout their lives together, where they developed an appreciation of the arts and fine cuisine. Dona was an enthusisyiv gardner, holistic and metaphysical practitioner, feminist and bargain hunter. She was a devoted mother and mentored her children's friends, as well, opening her home to them. Donna began working at American Airlines in 1986 and continued her employment there until she retired this year. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors: Husband of 42 years, John Stafford; son Chien Stafford; daughter Shanti Avazpour; granddaughter; Adelaide Avazpour; grandson, Jasper Avazpour; sisters, Lynn Shevack, Gayle Wimberly and Julia Bazan
